Okay, so I am seriously behind in blogging. The Saturday before Mother’s Day David, Mark, Jessica, and Rusty all celebrated their mothers (and David & Rusty’s golden birthdays) by hopping off of an airplane. Being a sane person, I stayed on the ground. Here are a few promised pics:

Sorry its Broken and the Hamthrax

First of all, please accept my deepest apoligies for the fact that this blog is a bit broken (note that in my previous post that the pictures of my beloved Edward did not show up. Just pretend that you can see pictures of him enjoying his new spacious pot). David is hoping that he will be able to fix it when he gets a spare moment. Which will probably be in a few years from now ;)

One of the big reasons that I had been so excited about having a blog is that there are so many times that David has said to me "if I had a blog I would blog about that." But we didn't have a blog and these little bits that amused my wonderful husband were not shared with anyone other than me and I felt that a great social injustice was being done to the rest of the known world. One of these little events happened after I came home from work yesterday. As anyone who has the ability to read knows at this point the world is going through this big swine flu scare. Oh, excuse me, H1N1 flu scare. For those of you who don't know I work at a hospital. In an effort to maintain order and contain the threat of this flu the powers that be in my place of employment has seen it best to close all the entrances except for one and to screen every person who enters the hospital with questions on their physical state. It looks a little like this: you walk into the hospital's main entrance and instead of smiling at the large animal sculptures one is greeted by a man wearing a security outfit sitting at a table. He has two stacks of stickers. One sticker has a checkmark and the words "no flu symptoms." The other sticker is neon orange and has some bold black writing on it that I coudn't read. He stops you and asks "have you in the last 48 hours had any of the following symptoms...." If you pass the screening you have to wear the checkmark all day. While I both appreciate and understand my employer's need to employ this method of screening the situation is a bit laughable. My co-workers have come up with a couple of names for this flu. One co-worker in particular walked up to the security officer yesterday and said: "I do not have the hamthrax. now give me my sticker." The security gaurd laughed. I told this story to David. He said that if he had a blog that he would blog about it.
